Blew the head gasket!!!!

Well it happened...was planning on have the job done in late Sept. But the 110 degree heat in Palm Springs had other plans.

First I thought it was a stuck thermostat...nope. Then the radiator...nope. Finally after replacing the radiator and getting some fluid to the engine and having it leak all over the place it was decided that the head gasket was definitly blown.

So while they're at it the valves and the timing chain are getting done/replaced. For $1,500 not bad.

Just thought I'd share with you where my wheel and tire money is going.

Tony.

Yup I had a head gasket failure at the oil/coolant hole parts....so I had oil in the coolant. Happened at 133,000 and had the valve job done at the same time. shortly thereafter one of the coolant lines busrts because they didnt replace them all. All said and done about 17-1800.

Just over 200K. Oil in the coolant for awhile but I just figured it would last til the end of Sept.

Got it back Tues. and the total cost came to 2 grand..there was some other issue that had to be delt with. Runs like a champ though.

Oil in coolant is a good warning that gives you some time to deal with it. I wonder if that is the usual case or it could also fail and overheat the engine without prior indication.
2G is not bad if it gets it in top shape.
Enjoy the next 200 K
