Low Coolant Level Warning Light, but fluid is full

1995 E320

My light is on, but everything is fine. The fluid is full in the reservoir.

Could it be the sensor that looks like it is plugged into the bottom of the reservoir?

Is the sensor an easy thing to replace?

this might be a stupid question but, how much coolant is there supposed to be in the reservoir?
i keep adding it above the half line (approx an inch) but it ALWAYS goes back down to below the half line.. is this a problem? my car never goes above 85-90c... on highway it is a rock stable 80, in traffic jams it is 85-90 at most...

sorry for thread hijacking mate..

Just replace the sensor.

How to read the temp. gauge? when it point at the mark between 80 and 120 it mean 90c? or 100c?
