300TE after timing chain repair: Oil pressure at 0 when oil is warm. Problem?

I had the timing chain and tensioner replaced on my 91 300TE (143,000 miles). Also, the oil and filter was changed and the front part of the engine was resealed after it was leaking oil. After that my wife took the car on a 600 mile road trip and experienced no difficulties. The engine sounds normal. When I drove the car again yesterday I noticed that the oil pressure with warm oil in D was 0. Previously it had always been around one. The pressure climbs to 3 immediately once you accelerate however, it is only around 2 bar at 1500 revs. It was at 3 at 1500 revs prior to the repair. Could it be that the guage or sender unit is faulty or is it a serious problem?

my oil pressuse goes down too when the car is really warm but doesn't get close too zero. i'm thinking its because i used too thin a oil (Mobil1 10W-30, that was lying around in my garade and didn't want to waste). i'm thinking if i use a thicker oil like Mobil one 15W-50 or Catrol 5W-50 then i won't have that problem.

hey,
FYI, i had that problem before on my E220..
this was caused by a leaking oil pan gasket even though i cannot work out how a leaking gasket could lead to an abnormal oil pressure, that's what my mechanic told me..
anyway, got the oil pan resealed and now all back to normal
