I picked up a lighter for my car today since it never came w/ one when i bought it. But when I pushed it down to test it, it never came back up. Anyone have lighter problems?

would the fuse be located behind the ashray/lighter unit? i checked all the fuses under the engine an all of them are fine.

Your owner's manual or the card in the fuse box should explain which fuse is applicable. It's a fuse in the fuse box.

Otherwise, the wiring is broken.

Note: Mercedes lighter works with ignition on only.

If it's a 12v connection just re-wire it from the stereo? Maybe? never tried it.

I found the culprit. It wasn't connected. I also discovered the ash tray light was not in place and that the front tabs of the center shifter cover are broken, so I'll leave it off and get another one from the recycler. Maybe even get myself a zebrano shift knob.
