40k and records to boot! sounds pretty good! You might want to go through the records and find out whats been done. Lots of things here that are brought up that you might want to look into! Ya gonna love that bad a$$ V8 !!

That looks like a pretty good price assuming the car checks out. I really enjoy driving mine every day...my second one. Go over the records and check the oil change frequency, tranny service etc. If it is tidy, I'd offer up if you are in the market...assuming there is some wiggle room in the $7,900.

wow! sounds like a good deal.
AGREED with the guys, check the records.
NEGLECT will cost you. i've been there, got the scars, paying american express.
i think the price sounds fair. have a mb stealer go over it for you, FIRST.
what color is that car?

With fuel costs rising, pervailing perception may be that a V-8 isn't the car to have--perhaps the reason for "reasonable" price. This may not be the only one.

the poster lives in dallas.
texas has some of the most reasonable outrageous fuel prices around.
you can either have an inexpensive car and pay to gas it or have a new hybrid pepsi can and pay a big monthly car payment and only a little at the gas pump.
everyone has to decide what is most important to/for them...
only each person can decide for themselves.

lots of cars
On my 86 I get 22-25mpg fwy and 19-20 mpg street so it's not that bad but the damn fuel prices need to come down!!
OH just because it's a v8 dosen't mean it waste more gas!

actually member ikchris mentioned gas not fever original poster.
i agree with you smokie, mid 20's is pretty darn good for a 275 horsepower space shuttle.
if a person takes evrything into consideration [payment, insurance cost, maint, gas, SURVIVABILITY] you can EASILY pay more for a newer hybrid or econo box.
as far as survivability goes, well i'd rather smash an mb than a pepsi can.
at least i'd be alive to drive again
to me that's a no-brainer.
i know there are some folks who just have to have a new car every year or two.
i'd rather have my space shuttle.
we have be given free will

I'm not fretting over gas mileage too much. They might have sold it to a family friend; the sellers are on vacation right now so I'm waiting for their return.
It's white/gray, new Yoko tires, all records, serviced in the DFW metroplex.
However, if that falls through I'm semi jonesin' for a 500E. I've got my first born due in late November so I need two cars with four doors and more safety. I'm doing my best to steer away from a Landcruiser/LX470.
This 400E seems like a great buy for the money. We'll see.
