94 E320 won't start

My wife was driving her 1994 E320 and suddenly all the gauges went to zero and she stopped the car and turned off the ignition switch and called me. Now the all gauges work when switch is turned on but car will not start, like it is not getting contact from the switch. Have already tried putting in N and it does not do anything. How do I test to find out if it is switch or starter gone bad.

Thanks, from Cajun Land

hi there, im also a proud owner of an E 320 and i've also been in your position. I'll give you some choices or option that may help you see why your car doesn't start:
1.- If your car has an original alarma try closing all doors and activate and de-activate the alarm twice and and then try to start it
2.- Check the voltage on your battery
3.- Your fuel pump died! This car uses 2 fuel pumps, they are electronic and you have no notice before they die, they just do.
4.- The starter died
If the car gives some signal of start when you turn the key if may be the fuel pump. You gotta get a mechanic.
Oh! it could also be the starter fuse, this one is hard to get, if you don't know where it is you wont get it, its near the battery.
I can only wish you luck...
