Unhappy Lower dash removal help

Hey guys,

How do I take the underneath part of the dash off? (the part right above your knees). I am having way too many problems with my car stereo install, i need to be able to run new wires to the dash speakers but I cant do it unless I take that part off.

the surround around the key pops off

The surround around the headlight pops off. first remove the switch knob and undo the nut and pop it off

Then you will find a few 8mm nuts to take out.

There are a few on the under side as well. then you should be able to pop it off.

passenger side is different, easier if you don;t have a passenger airbag.

I forget exactly how that one comes off.

The drivers side seems easy enough, I do have a passeneger airbag though. I cannot see any visible screws or bolts to remove. If it cips on I gotta be careful I dont wanna break the clips.

Thanks so far.

under the airbag on the bottom of the lower dash panel you will see a hole there is a bolt in there probably 10mm you need like a 6" extension to reach it I believe.

Then airbag should come out.

Then there should be bolts under where the airbag was for the panel.

Whoa seems pretty tough, the car stereo place told me that the stock wires might be causing interference, but I dont think they are, the built in fader is bypassed. I think I might have to take it somewhere cuz its been 2 months and I cant get the noise to go away. I love this car but I have never had so many problems installing an aftermarket stereo before.

Thanks again for the help

check your grounds.

Are you running amplifiers? or just stock headunit?

IT is possible one of the speaker wires is also grounding to chassis.

Who installed the stereo?
