Volk Racing wheels

I have a set of Volk Racing LE37T on another car, and they are light and strong. I was looking to get a set for my 1994 E320 in 17x7.5, and was wondering what you folks think, and if it will fit.

The Volk wheels come in 17x7.5 ET30 an ET40. The size guide shown here may be older, so I have to check. I do know that they come in our bolt patter (5x112 correct?).
I believe a good setup will take ET35 or ET37. I have upgraded the rotors to Zimmerman cross-drilled, and want to show the hardware a bit more.

Currently I have a set of AMG replicas in 18 for the Summer that are rubbing on the lower side. Not on the fenders as I rolled them. I wish to go with 17x7.5 and lower the car via the full Sportsline suspension setup, including anti-sway bars.
With the use of a little photoshop, here is the before and after shots:

I've always been a fan of Volk Racing wheels, especially when I use to be in the "import" scene.

I think a set of Volk's would look really nice on your car. Also, very different and unique since you only see Ray's wheels on Japanese cars. The Progressive TE's would look nice too.

Have you thought about the CE28N's or GT-U? Those wheels are also Sweet. The GT-U would look nice especially since it looks like a BBS wheels.

The bolt pattern is 5 x 112 so you're correct there. Where did you pick up your Zimmermann rotors?

I got the Zimmerman rotors for front and rear because the front ones needed to be replaced. Since I was going to change the front ones to be cross-drilled, I figured why not just do it all around. Got new pads, new sensors and new rotors, and changed the brake fluid while at it.
I bought the stuff from OvernightAutoParts.com

Here is what they look like:

I am thinking of the LE37 so it shows the hardware a bit more, the lip I like the look, and they come in 17". I think the new Progressive wheels only come in 19", and that would be too large for me to have on this car. I will check the other wheels you mentioned.

One other thought was to get Volks for the CLK430 instead, and move the current AMG ones from the CLK to the E. Will try that this weekend.

Here is a picture of the CLK430:

The wheels on that one are staggered, which I also like. Once I test it this weekend, I'll report back on whether they work or not, and make the decision from there.

Here are the Volk Racing wheels on my other car. This one is not photoshop'd.

Nelson, you have some beautiful cars there. I definitely like the RS6 with those Volk's. It's good to know someone is stepping outside the box and utilizing wheels not normally put on European cars. Good camera shows too, what camera are you using? How's the RS6 doing for you?

So how do you like the Zimmermann rotors? My friend has them for his 2.3-16V and says they are pretty good. I was considering ATE Power disc rotors but since I need a complete brake job soon I'll most likely upgrade to performance rotors and brake pads if there are any?

Anyways, look into those other Volk Racing wheels I suggested. You'll like them, especially since they show off the brakes. Not openly like the LE37's do but good enough.

I have a white W124 too.

That looks nice, but I'm not a big fan of it simply because its a "JDM" brand on a euro car. Its like the time I saw a set of Brabus wheels on a Lexus, it just wasn't right.

Hey nene, those wheels are pretty slick...I think I've seen your RS6 ones or twice up by the state house, that was your car wasnt it?

Thank you very much for your feedback friends. I like honesty.

The RS6 you most likely saw by the State House was mine. There was an E55 that used to park there all the time, however no longer the case. Not sure what happened. As you can see by my list of vehicles, I love anything from Germany.
I use a Nikon D70 for my shots.

I really like the Zimmerman rotors. I've had them for 7K miles, and they seem to holding up pretty good in 20 daily commuting miles. Winter inclusive, as I had them during last Winter. I don't track the car, and the cross-drilled is simply for looks in this case. Not sure I have get a chance to really heat them up. It has been worth the price thus far.

As for the wheels, I like keeping an open mind. I am not as picky about who makes them or where they are made, as I am picky only about the look and strength of the rim. It seems that some of the Japanese manufacturers give also quite a choice in sizes, thus my leaning towards it. They are lightweight, strong, hardly anyone has an identical setup, and I can always seem to get them easily. I am still juggling some ideas around on this.

On quick question I had, and maybe a few know the answer, to get the E500 bumper installed on the E320, does one also require going with the E500s wider fenders up front? If anyone knows the answer, I'd love to know, as I plan on changing the front setup, other than installing an AMG bumper lip of sorts.

Thanks again to all for your support and great feedback.

17x7.5 with an offset of 30 will work fine. youc an run 225/45/17 rubber with no issues..

My carlsson wheels were 17x7.5 ET 30 and I had 225/45/17 and they were good to go.

Nelson,

From what I remember, when I wanted to do the 500E conversion in the front. I believe you'll also need the fenders, but then again I could be wrong because that's what I heard. Do you already have sources to get the 500E fenders?

Thanks Alon for the update.

I don't have a specific vendor/source to get the 500E fenders. I am hoping that I can get it/order it from my local dealership. Thansk for the update on the fenders. The bumper sides that match to the fenders do seem to stick out a bit, and instead of heating up the plastic and molding it to fit the less wide E320 fenders, I think it will be easier/cleaner job if I can get the fenders as well.
If you have any leads besides the local dealership, I'd be happy to get that info from you Chris. If successful, I can post lots of pics and post info on the event.

If I remember correctly, a member from here said there was a place in Florida that offered 500E fenders, I'm not sure if that's true or not but I'll look into it.

You should check with the http://www.500e.com/forums/index.php in the classified section. From the times I have visited and check that section, I've seen 500E's being parted out and what not. You might get lucky one day.

you would need the fenders and the fender mouldings ont he sides as well and probably more parts as I am not sure if they just bolt right up.

those volks look so pefect on the W124. ive always loved the LE37's ever since I saw them on a silver S4 up in Portland ME. ive always thought a LE37 with the pollished lip would look great on my dads E320 but never knew they came in the right bolt pattern for MB. the silver LE's look great on the white car. Not super flashy but with a very high performance look to it.
Very Nice.

wrong bolt pattern

i hate to burst your bubble (i was looking in to a set of bronze te37 not to long ago) but volks dont come in our bolt pattern. they are mostly 4x100 or 5x114.3
(not5x112). i belive that only the lexion series come in our bolt pattern.

edit:just looked up rs6 specs and they have a bolt pattern of 5x112. thats weird cause f you go to makin industries they dont list our bolt atter any where??? i am so confused. please tell me where you found you wheels for your rs6

Hi Hart,

The RS6 wheels are 5x112 bolt pattern. I believe that the bolt pattern on Makin's site, or even Ray's site won't always show the bolt patterns available.
The only issue is that you may have to wait to get your wheels. For example, I was able to get the rear wheels immediately, and had to wait 3 months to get the front wheels. Usually I buy them during Winter, so I have them by Spring.

I get my stuff from Supreme Power Parts. Call Eric as he is the owner. He is hooking me up with 17x7.5 for the Benz as well.

RS6 front: 19x8.5 ET35
RS6 rear : 19x9.5 ET34

If you have any other questions, let me know.
