To me thick white exhaust would signify a coolant leak into the combustion chamber via blown head gasket. When you checked the plugs did they appear suspiciously clean? How is the coolant level? You may want to mark the level where it is now and check for coolant loss. Sniff the exhaust.... this may give a clue.

It should smell sweet - like coolant.

Check out the Fuel pump relay. If the car starts and the moment you give gas and it starts showing the power loss then there are only two things to consider first:

1) Change the fuel filter.
2) Fuel relay which is near to the fuse box. Open it up and inpect it thoroughly. In my car the relay looked very nice but eventually when i replaced it so now there is no loss of power in my car.

Best of luck
