How to remove headlight button inside??

Has anyone ever tried to remove the headlight on/off switch to fix the little lightbulb inside. I have the bulb but can't seem to find a way to get the damn button off. I can pull it out obviously for fogs but that's it...

??

Yeah, if you just pull on the knob it will come off. It takes a decent pull. That will allow you to change the rear fog light indicator bulb. If you're after the bulb that illuminates the different light selections, I think you have to undo the the nut that holds the rotary switch in place. (It's huge, like 22mm or something) Once that is off you can remove the plastic trim. The little light bulb attaches to that.

^I did this a few weeks ago, and I think that's all there is to it, as well as I can remember.

whoa.. that thing lights up?! i guess i gotta replace a light! so to get to the other one i have to remove the knob , then behind it is a screw which will unscrew the trim? time to go to the stealership.

lol it is. you must activate it by turning it to the right 1 click then pulling out 2 clicks. if it doesnt light up your bulb is burned out. it is used as someone else posted to remind you that your left hand rear fog light is activated.

Yeah see what happened was the original one barely stayed on and culd pull right off. Once i put the new one in, if pulled, won't budge. In fact if you start to pull hard it starts taking the whole black surround with it so i wasn't sure if there was a "trick" to it.

it's the bulb right in the center of the switch. I just may have to search for a screw as suggested...thx

There's no screw to take off the knob. Once you pop it off the little lightbulb for the rear fog light is right there. No tools needed. When I was referring to the large nut that had to be undone, that was only if you were replacing the lightbulb that lights up the different lighting selections.

some people say its lit some don't. I pulled it out and see no light, I moved it to the right one click then out 2 clicks. no difference than just one click out. WEnt to the back of the car and tail lights appeared the same.

I think the rear fog light didn't debut until later model year w124's. I'm not sure on the year exactly, but my 1992 has it.
