turn signals wont blink with headlights on

I recently switched out the orange blinker in the front to the newer 94 looking ones with the orange strip today. The orange bulbs light up with the headlights no problem and in park mode no problem however with the headlights on they wont blink for turns. They DO blink normally for turns with the headlights off. I changed to the regular old bulbs for the car back and still the same results.

anyone have any ideas or ever have this problem??

once i attempt ot use the turn signal with the headlights on at night the orange bulb deal comes on the dash indicating a bulb malfunction.

The pigtail that the bulb screws into is still oem from the original set. I just screwed and turned it into the new plastic housing.

did you change the bulbs?

If you did did you use a dual stage bulb or single stage?

Yeah you know what it was...these bulbs have small pins on each side of the metal that are of slightly different heights. You have to screw them in a specific way so the pins match the holes in the thing...I was doing them in backwards essentially.

how about that! glad you found the cause/cure. so they're dual filament
bulbs, but because it wasn't twisted down properly, only one filament was
working? is that how it was exhibiting?

Yes only one filament worked and it was really bright which I assume was the blinker filament stuck in the "on" position thinking it was just the park one.....The little pins on the sides slide down in slots and then turn. I had never realized the pins were at different heights and they were so to allow proper alignment to each side on the bottom of the bulb.
