have you replaced thetrans filter & fluid?

my 320 had the same problem, after replacing the filter and the fluid ... everything went Ok.

there may not be a kickdown because when the engine is cold, you are already in first gear. there is a little line above the 40 degree mark on the temp gauge, that is when the car switches from a 1st gear cold start to 2nd gear start. as for the tranny shifting hard, it may be that your fluids arent moving when the car is cold, im not sure. check your fluids
