If you want to lower the car as cheaply as possible, you could always cut the springs and leave the stock shocks.....this is never recomended though...
Just save the money and do it right the first time. You can get springs for around $200, depending on what you get, and shocks for $400 or so.

change your spring pads. cheapest way. jeck the rubber pads on the springs on the car, you will find this by looking in the wheel well behind the tire. there will be little nubs on the pads.
Count the nubs on the pads, and put in pads with less nubs.
say you have a 3 nub front pad, put ina 1 nub which should lower the car anywhere from 10 - 16 mm in front.
rear same deal..
Alon
If that doesn;t work for you, you can get springs on ebay for a w124 for cheap, I think I have seen some eibachs and even some others for sale fro around $200.00 maybe a little more.

Hello guys,
Am new here,
As the guys said, it's better to buy new ones rather than cutting the custom ones. or as ashman said, change the pads but don't think they'll make a huge difference.
I bought a new set but still didn't cut them off
but the thing I wana know, whuld it be OK if I cut them

1- The springs are independent ...! (yes) OJ's DNA
2- DO NOT ever think about cutting them, replace them or keep![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
3- all that money for a quarter inch lower? - dose not matter if it's 1/4 or even 1" , the point is : YOU GET MORE STABILITY ON THE CORNERS.
4- i'm planning to have a look at the springs pads on my 320 since it's in the workshop, i'll try to find out how to lower.
and i'll go for the bilstein shocks.
Searching for a strut tower bar, if any body would help me to get

what's up.....
I don't know either.
I have changed the shocks and the pads to #2 with keeping the custom springs but the problem is that it is still high
note. the pads are German not MBs
what is the best solution??

black320-- What brand of springs did you get? If your car is still too high on #2 pads, then maybe you should look into a different spring that is more aggressive. You could always try the #1 pads, but that is only a 5mm difference at the springs.
Silvo-- I've been looking for a strut tower bar too. The only place I have found that sells them specifically for our cars is Wieschers Sport. Here is their website:
http://www.wiechers-sport.de/
I emailed them, and it turns out they have an American distributor. Here's that website:

WHY did you NOT get m.b. spring shims/pads????
use the real stuff, proper sized, you'll get the real results.
you can't half *** stuff-don't expect it to look/work right.
i lowered a stock 300e [with bilstein h.d.'s] 3/4" by using mercedes benz spring pads. FACT.
rear end drop was most noticable-had #3's in back, went to #1's. front was #4's went to # 2's

thanks Legoinsaniac, I forgot, the spring are the stock ones.
I guess the hight is due to the aftermarket pads (got them free)
ebennz, The shocks I have are normal bilstein ones. and I guess it's due to these bad pads.
I might go for #1 MB pads and see how it goes.
