Question want comments about 230 E (1986)

I'm new here. I own a C 200 K (2000) as my main car.
I have a good chance to buy a 1986 230 E as a second car.
I need comments about engine and chassis life.
It is equip. with 4 manual shift and i don't really like the knob feel.
I'll adapt the engine to operate with Natural Gas (as usual in my country - Argentina) - If someone know about that on this kind of ke-jetronic please i'll like comments.
The odometer says 65.000 kM, but i don't really trust it.
Leather seats seems fine
I like to confirm if the engine performance originally was 136 bhp, and maximun speed near 200 kph
Thank you all

The W124 230E engine was carried over from the W123 230E. The engine was the long running M102 used since 1980. M102s will run up high mileages, but were prone to noisey cams, although will still keep running regardless.

Specs;
W124 230E (M102)
2299cc
4-cyl OHC
136bhp @ 5100rpm
152lb.ft @ 3500rpm torque
124 mph max
0-60 9.8secs
Standing 1/4 mile 17.4secs
Overall fuel comsumption 23.6mpg

Thank you heckflosse.

Does the 230 E carry KE-jetronic fuel injection?

What about the injection maintenance costs?

I beleave the W124 230E has the Bosch K-jetronic mechanical fuel injection as from the W123.

I have an 230CE with 140000 miles, 60000 added myself, which hasn't cost me anything to maintain.

Re: want comments about 230 E (1986)

generally the Bosch K-jetronic is the most used injection system for cars of the 80's and early 90's. Even VW has used it then. It is completely care free. I own two DB 260E both far beyond 260.000 km and never ever anyone had to look into the K-Jetronic, not even the injections valve have been replaced. I do not know anything of the transision to natural gas. But in general the 230E has extremly long lasting engines. The most important thing for those cars is, as to my experience, regular oil changes, and I suggest half the factory recommended times!!!!! Better change more often cheaper oil, than running to long on expensive synthetic oils.
