New wheel is installed!!!
Well I took the plunge and decided after a chat with a local MBZ restorer that I could do the job myself!I just needed the right tools. I had to buy a 10mm allen socket. That and my air impact gun job was a piece of cake! The wheel just feels great has the finger grips in the wood that give whole new feel to the wheel! American Stitches did a great job!!

Yes is slightly diff shade! I did not want to tear off a piece of wood trim to send them so I opted for for a photo! Little more red in it! But sure looks good enough for me and better than the old one!!

Which color(stain) did you choose? I thought their "red burl" was pretty close to the factory MB burl wood.

I sent them a pic of the console ashtray and I guess they tried to match that! I'm ok with it though!

Holson! Ya I know about coughin up the cash! I said WTF and went for it. I really do love the finger grips in the wood though. Gives it nice feel and seems to feel a little fatter! Nice and comfortable!!
