fuel additives
Any of you guys use "Chevron Techron" fuel injector cleaner? The stuff costs about $12.99 for a 20 oz bottle. Is it worth it? I get mixed reports from mechanics about the stuff. I do a lot fo idling with the heat on when I take a nap in the car during my breaks between classes. This stuff is supposed to keep the exhaust valves from clean from carbon too. Any comments about this or other brands of additives or they're a waste of money?
I throw one in the last tank once a year before I do an oil change (read somewhere that the junk from the injectors go into the oil... who knows if it's true)
Don't know if it works but I put it in the Jeep too (among with a bunch of other stuff, Marvel Mystery Oil, ATF, Rislone stuff) and something has made a difference for the Jeep. (The lifter tick isn't as bad as it used to be)
Peace of mind I suppose.

Yes, it does work. Most consider Techron to be one of the best fuel additives you can use to clean injectors, and the top cylinder area. Another is "BG44K", about $20 for a can, and harder to find. If you use any good, name-brand premium fuel you will get good cleaning agents with every refueling. One of the best in the industry now seems to be Shell premium. If you use one of these additives, no need to do so more than once or twice/year.
