Is my E320 a sportline?

So here's my issue. I picked up an awesome 95 E320 Convertible. Now, there are a few things that make this car stand out. First off, I've come to the realization that the convertible E320 is a rare model to begin with. Second, the car was imported from Germany to the US. So, the car does not have a US VIN. I had to run it through the MB Club of Russia's VIN Decoder to get an accurate decode. Now, I've read lots and lots about the Sportline option that was available on these cars. Mine has no badges at all, just the silver star, no E320 badge, no Sportline badges, gear shift knob, nothing. The reason I'm confused is, I ran my VIN and option codes and I do have the following:

Code: 289 - wooden/leather steering wheel (dia. 390 mm)
653 - sports chassis with 8-hole light alloy rims (с 01.01.1990)

Does the #653 Option mean this IS a sportline car? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'll be sure to post some pictures real soon. I just got the entire suspension redone with Bilstein shocks/struts, Eibach springs, and new bushings all the way around. It looks killer!! and handles even better!

Info on Sportline: http://www.mercedesshop.com/sportline_suspension.htm

And the answer is....No you don't have sportline! Because you changed it.

Well, your car was a Sportline until you took all the Sportline bits off.

I didn't take all the sportline bits off. The sway bars, sub frame connectors, and bushings (new factory OEM replacements), are all the same, the only swapped parts are the better bilstein shocks and the even lower springs. It's WAY better than it used to be, in my opinion. Don't be jealous ha ha
