Coolant Gauge on my W124 E220 '95

I just bought a 1995 W124 E220 with only 35,000km on it. I have had the wiring harness (upper) replaced and some other parts replaced, such as tie rods, drag link, etc. It's been 2 months since I owned it. However, there are 2 intermittent problems.

First is on my coolant gauge. I am in Indonesia and the temp is about 30C all year round. The car has never given me overheat problem, but the coolant gauge goes crazy from time to time. The sympton is: the gauge goes dead for less than half second then goes way up to 120 for another 1/10 second then goes back to normal 85. When it starts, it can continue behaving like that for hours while on the road. The MB mechanic said my coolant works fine and no overheating problem. Electric cable checked and no problem found either. Any suggestion?

2nd problem is: While on the road, aircon goes dead (no cool air) from time to time (avg once very 3 weeks). I would pull my car over and restart the engine, then cool air comes back again. Another time when it happened, I turned aircon off for 5 minutes without shutting engine down , it then worked again when I turned on aircon switch again . MB guy also said aircon looks great to them and no problem found. He then said the problem might be because it was too hot so the fuse stopped working until it cools down. Is it true?

W124 is a very nice MB and I'd love to pay to get all problem fixed rather than selling it. This is my first MB but I love it so much. Hope I can keep it for another 10 years!!
