Limited Slip Differential...

I was looking around and reading some books, i was wondering if anyone ahs installed a "emchanical" limited slipp diff into a rear end on a 300E or equivalent. They reduce upto 35% of the slipage... if so, how does it run now, can you tell the difference?

I've read that none ever made it to USA in W124s.

Later on ASR (automatic slip reduction) came along, making mechanical diff system unnecessary. It uses ABS of course.

I dont need it but, up here we have normal ice storms during the night and a LSD would be nice to have. I had one on my old Prelude, killed the "one wheel wonder" mobile and could evenly burn off two tires at once... ha ha
I would like to find one tho, give it a try...

They had three versions of it...

Mechanical - 35% reduction of rear weel slip
ASR - upwards of 78% of wheel slip cut out
Electrical - cut out 100% of wheel slip
