My dads 95 E420 is haveing some weird issues. The car starts up fine but when you hit the gas it sounds like it choking and a smell of gas come and then the car shuts off.

Anyone every have this issue? I had a guy look at it and he said it was the wiring which i think is BS.

Any ideas would help, thanks

 

When were caps and rotors and plugs changed? They can lead to some strange run problems! If the engine detects a loss of fire the computer will shut down 4 of the cyls to save burning out the cats!

It could actually be your wiring....look at the ends of a few of the upper harness plugs....if you see bare wires...change it out asap. A known problem on all the M119 V8s.
