The benzbin.com-has anyone used?

Hey,

My off button for the climate control unit has been acting up (will shut off the climate control when [ O ] is pressed, but then will automatically start the unit again in a few seconds even though the off button is engaged). I went to the dealership and they said the entire unit needs to be replaced, for $1100 (part alone). I can get a rebuilt unit off the internet at benzbin.com for less than $300US. Has anyone used the Benzbin.com before? Is it reputable?

Thanks

D

I checked Ebay, there are some available. Can you tell me though, is thebenzbin.com reputable? Has anyone had problems?

Thanks

I've ordered a few things from them before without any problems. One time I got a bosch fuel filter that leaked all around the seams (defective from the factory). They handled the whole matter well and got me a refund. I would recommend them.

Benz Bin is fine. I would order the part off ebay though. I think I saw the one you are looking at and it was being sold by Potomac German Auto. They are a Mercedes salvage operation in Maryland. I have bought many parts from them and even sold a wrecked car to them. Look them up and call them, they are very helpful.

08 Lexus GS350 AWD. 08 Lexus RX350 AWD - wife's. 94 MBZ E320 - still have it.
I've used benzbin few times before, always great service. I would not buy the push-button unit from a junk yard. Those units are known for their problems, the junk yard will still charge you $100 or so, and most of them have no warranty on electrical parts. I would go with a rebuilt unit.
