O2 sensors, are they interchangeable?

I have a 94 E320 which failed the smog test. And a 92 400e. Can I swap 02 Sensors? Wanna see if that will fix my high CO's.
thanks, Sabi

Yeah, the O2 Sensor is among one of the easiest installs I have done til this date. Search the forums and you can find a discussion by me talking about it in detail and how you can buy a OEM Bosch Ford sensor and just splice the wires.

Unless you have an M104 which is a four wire O2 sensor in which case I don't know which is the compatible sensor.

I heard that if its a three wire sensor then the Mustang 5.0L O2 Sensor will splice on and that if its a 4 Wire sensor then one out of a mid 90's plymouth voyager one will splice right in. its like 100$ cheaper and the sensor itself has almost the same part numbers. We used the plymouth voyager one in our 94 E320 and its a real easy swap. i think u have to get one for the 3.6L version or something close to that.
