Mercedes benz 1991 300ce(RIP), now an 89 300ce
antenna stuck
i know this is a problem with many w124s. the antenna gets stuck either going up or down affecting radio signal. anyway, its not that big a deal for me, cause i usually just use my ipod in the car anyway, but for those times i dont i hate the crappy signal. any ideas on how to fix it? i know i can buy a new one but its not really worth it to me because i use it so little. thanks again guys

My antenna does that to. Like you I really do not use it that much. But mine is not sticking, its stuck. I can not lower it at all. Some one told me that I would probably have to replace the entire thing because the antenna motor is probably tore up.

fixed, i took some time to examine it and find the problem. turns out there was a very small bend at some point on the antenna. so i bent it back a little bit and dura lubed it, and now its working. its still getting sticking a little, but the motor gives it enoguh force to get it moving again
