300E strut braces
#3
These are essentially non-existent in the U.S. I did some research some time ago and found this German website, which to my knowledge is the only place that makes strut tower braces specifically for the w124.
http://www.wiechers-sport.de
I emailed them (my German teacher would be proud!) and asked about pricing and shipping to the United States. It turns out that there is an American distributor located in Michigan, called Auto-Mark. They sell the polished aluminum braces for something around $200, I don't exactly remember. But I never ended up getting one, just because I was satisfied with my handling characteristics once I got my springs and shocks.

W124's
Awhile ago I came across a super rare AMG strut bar for the W124. I wanted to get it but it was in a Japanese Auction and they didn't ship internationally.
I would like to get a weichers sport bar though, I forgot who, but someone on this board has one on their car.

I take offense at that. But anyways, strut bars are not just for Asian import tuning. They're an aftermarket mod available for most BMW, MB and other sport luxuries to improve suspension handling. I have a Sparco upper strut bar on my W124.

I have the Weichers bar on my car... was something like $200 USD plus shipping, plus the cost of an int'l bank wire (which can be $30-$50). It wasn't a huge difference, felt like going up one size on the sway bars...

W124's
I'm really curious if the Weichers bar will fit the W124 with the M103/M104 engine. It seems like the airbox would be in the way, but then again - I could be wrong. Well only because I've never seen any other pictures of the bar installed on W124's...
Jack, Don't you have one?
