thanks all,

While some of this might be due to the springs settling in a bit, I have to wonder if it's the shocks. I too am looking for Bilstein Sports, and I too cannot find them cheaper than about $480! But when I get some installed, we'll see if it changes my ride height!
so in short lowering spring and stock shocks don't mix. and blown shocks do affect ride height.

With the whole issue of shocks and wether or not they support weight:
After changing out my stock shocks for bilstein sports, the ride was definetly lower. This is simply because stock shocks are designed to work best with a stock ride height. When the car is lowered, the shocks are put under more pressure, and are constantly trying to push the car back up. Sport shocks are shorter, so they will not be supporting as much of the car's weight.
In short, replacing stock shocks with sport shocks will lower your car. (even if it's just a little bit)
