Troubleshoot inoperable dash speaker?

I've seen in various threads that people have swapped out their stereo systems. I however just need to figure out why 1 of the speakers in the front dash doesn't work. It's all original OEM, all speakers and original head unit. I popped out the speaker and it appears to be fine connection wise and appearance wise. I am not sure where else a fault could be...wiring etc... The fader and left/right works just fine for the other speakers.

Wondering if anyone has had to do the same and what the cause was...the speaker dead or at some harness of some kind???? Whenever my speakers blew they always made noise...this one just is silent like it's not connected.

Any steps to check or link I may have missed would be greatly appreciated.

to test the speaker itself, take a 9 volt battery and touch it to the terminals of move up once and stay

swap it to the other side. if it doesn;t play, then it is bad. if it does, most likely a channel on the factory amp is bad.

just my opinion, but i suggest you take this oppurtunity to get some aftermarket speakers. the oem speakers are great, but if you get a decent aftermarket set it will be even better
