AMG 300CE value?
I have seen a nice 1989 Black AMG 300CE in the Phila PA want ads
Very nice.
90K miles
What might an honest reasonable offer / final price be?
The AMG value is blue-sky to me; I have no idea what it means to value except increase it. I do not know how much.

Okay, that is interesting. I scanned and found some examples of 1989 AMG cars, but then re-read the advertisement- it says AMG cosmetics. Well, it says AMG edition, but later in the ad says cosmetics. Maybe a sheep in wolf's clothing, but if the motor is a dog, it aint worth the money I was considering paying for it.
Are we sure they did not make 1989 W124 AMG versions? At minimum, thanks for the warning to do more homework, they want strong money for the car.

they did make them...
But it is hard to determine if some amg cars were more than just cosmetics.
If the engine has been done, it shoul dhave a plate on it somehwere with an HWA on it. if not, it is most likely a standard car with amg kit.
I would have it checked out by a mechanic you know and trust too before making any decisions

Could we assume for a moment it's the real thing?
If it were beautiful, is it worth $7-8k? $10K? $15k? $20k?
Assuming all good things, where about is common, reasonable (I know it's what a buyer thinks it's worth)
Please float a few numbers as to a range anyway?

it is hard to determine price of an original AMG car as they can be very rare, and it is only worht what someone is willing to pay for it.
My car looks like the real deal but it is not, could I get more for it than if it was all stock, probably, but it would take the right buyer att he right time.
Before you make any offers, I would go to a mercedes independant mechanic you know and trust who knows these cars inside and out, if he determines it is an original AMG car, I would then and only then consider it. If it is not a real AMG, I would think maybe a thousand or two over regular book price if the rest of the car is immaculate and deserves bluebook.
But thats just me.

I am pretty well convinced this car is fully an AMG car. At this moment I am at the edge of paying $6750 for a beautiful, 65k stock 1989 or $11,000 for the AMG.
$4000 difference
Please anyone...pros and cons? Is that $11,000 price rational, on average, aside from my own personal motivation?
