New swaybar installed

Over the weekend I replaced my front swaybar with one from a 500E. It was a really simple job, and only took about an hour and a half of my time (including about twenty minutes of oogling over a Ford GT that a guy on my block just bought....drool...). There is more of a difference in the handling than I thought there would be. Now the car really, really handles like it's on rails. High speed turns seem to be the most noticably improved. I'm glad I did it, because my old sway bar bushings were shot, and definetly needed replacing. I hope to eventually replace the rear sway bar too, but I don't think that will be as simple as the front was to replace.

oh, and while testing the new upgrade, I hit 175,000 miles! Still going strong.

nice! How much did you get it for? The 500E sway bar is still a mod I would like to do on my car. I was quoted around 600 for the front and rear with all the parts needed from my dealer.

Man what have I been telling you guys! Yes the rear bar is a lot more involved! You gonna have to drop some of the rear suspension! Bigblue like a goat on rails!!

I remember from an older thread from MBGarage that the Eibach sway bar kit is as thick if not thicker then the stock 500 bars...Is that true? The Eibach kit ranges from $350 to 400 compared to the more expensive stock 500

I got the front 500E bar for $145 (from Rusty at www.buymbparts.com). I went to the dealer for the bushings, which totaled something like $40. The rear bar is more expensive...something like $235 from Rusty. Either way, it's cheaper than just getting the parts from the dealer.

If the eibach kit is only $350-$400, then that's certainly a good deal (assuming it includes a rear bar too). For some reason I don't think the Eibach kit fits the v8's, so it wasn't an option for me. But I might be wrong, it's been awhile since I researched all this anti-sway bar stuff

I'll check out that website.

Does anyone have the Part #'s in hard for the front and rear?
