dash board hums
I have a humming or clicking sound in my dash.
I have a 1993 300CE and at least once a week and only within about the first 5 minutes of driving I hear a humming sound from the left side of the dash board. It almost sounds like a air compressor. It sounds for a few seconds and quits. Nothing in the car changes. I am mystified.

OK, please don't laugh. I had similar problem, except the humming was constant. In my case one of the fuses had a hairline crack in it. It was so tiny, I could barely see it. So, since then any time I have any mysterious electrical problem, I check all the fuses before anything else. Many times I found them to either have tiny cracks, or bad connections where they are touchung the fuse holders, and replacing them would cure many problems.

I have a similar problem....about 3-4 times a month my dash makes more of a squeaking/chirping sound. dont know what it is? doesnt happen too much so it doesnt bug me all that much...anyone know?

I have the same problem, chirping sound from dash, turn the blower fan off and it goes away, my guess is the motor bearing on the fan.

finally got tired of the chirping, changed the blower motor and squirrel cage. no more chirping sounds.
