300E 2.6 Power improvements?

Anyone have any ideas on how to improve power on a 2.6?

03 S 500--94 BMW 325i--01 GSXR 1000
Yes just drive it and enjoy it. Theres not much you can do with it. Later on when you get another car but an 8cyclinder or even better a 12. I have the same car and I had to come to terms with that also.

You can change your air filter to a K&N. You can remove the resistor that retarded your spark timing, but be careful regarding fuel and pre-detonation.

It is usually found near the fuse box area. It is a small square black plastic piece about half the size of a match book. Often it has fallen down between the brake booster and firewall to the engine.

260E , 1989 (for now)
I too have a 1989 260E and I have looked at several alternatives to increase the power.
My recommendations: Do not spent your hard earned fortune to try to do the impossible.
K & N: Nerver been, never will be a perfornce improvement item that you will be able to feel. There may be a very very slight improvement at very high RPM due to the fact that this filter has a little bit less restriction than the original filter. This is accomplished at the cost of letting much more dirt, dust, contaminants through the system.
Removing the resistor: I've tried it too. I could never feel or detect, any difference in performance.
Others have tried to improve the intake side, installed tricky exhaust system. I have never seen a performance improvement on a Mercedes with those types of modification.
A 260E is a 260E. Never been conceived to be a performance car or to be modified to become a performance car.
Unless you are ready to invest tons of cash (turbo, supercharger, stroker kit and the like), there is no simple (cheap) way of increasing performance on those cars.
