Thumbs up Help Please - Starting Problem

I have a 92000 miles, 1994 E420. Recently I have experienced the car is hard to start when weather is cold or warm. I don't know much about auto repair. The car runs excellent after start. I plan to take it to the dealer and have it check out. But before I take it to the dealer, if anyone has experiences about this problem/symtom, would you please shed some lights for me. Thank you very much for reading and help. Wish all have nice day.

Regards,

MDN

I don't know about the later models, but on mine (88 TE m103) there is a "hidden" fuse that lays right behind the battery tray, located behind the plastic cover in back of the battery.

my car gave me a years worth of starting problems due to this lovely little 10 amp fuse...

Before I replaced it I used to have to tweak my car three or four times before It would even catch enough fuel to idle...once I replaced this fuse it turned on like it was brand new!

it's either that or you need a new dare-I-say wiring harness!

I wish you good luck.

steps

1. remove battery
2. Remove plastic protective wall behind battery tray
3. You will see what appears to be two enormous Cartridges of some type
3. Next to this you will see a little *** and on the top of this "***" there is a plastic lid, lift this and you will see the "10 amp" fuse.
4. remove and insert new fuse and you should be all set!

your symptoms sound exactly like mine, cold and warm weather hard start.

I hope this will cure your problem

Shadow,

Are you talking about the 2x red 10amp fuses on the OVP relay?

To be honest with you I have no idea what it's called. Does my description match what sounds like an OVP? Although there is only one slot for a fuse in mine
