1992 300E Hood Release Lever
Hey all,
I just picked up a 1992 300E w/ 180000 miles for $3000, and I love it. Everything works well, except for the hood release, its missing. Im trying to find a replacement for the part that you pull out of the front grille - the handle that actually opens the hood. Can someone tell me what this part is called (or better yet - where to buy it)? Every search I make turns up the latch assembly, or the release from under the dash.. Im looking for the part that actually opens the hood. Right now there is a wire sticking out of the grille that is a pain in the butt to pull. Anyone? Help!

Go to Carparts.com and find a yard with the year of car your looking for . Give them a call and see if they have the part.
You might have to do some calling around but most numbers are toll free. I bet you should find one somewhere!

check ebay they have some for sale. I forogt what to type in exactly. There are a few threads about this just recently. You can use a hanger like i explained in the other thread about the hood release.
