Tires with "P" in the designation are P-metric tires for American cars. P-metric tires are not suitable for European cars and have never appeared on a Mercedes list of approved tires.

A nice set of Michelins or Bridgestones could go with your e, especially for long distance traveling. Or, quality for less...Yokohama.

You could opt for 205/60 15 if you want a slightly wider tire, but with nearly the exact overall diameter as the OEM 195/65 15.
I have 3 124s, two of which have the OEM size and one which has the 205s.
I currently run Continental Pro Contacts. I have tried Bridgestone, Michelin, and Yokohamas, but they were either too noisy, lousy in the wet, or wore out too quickly.
I do a lot of highway driving and the ContiPros suit me just fine.

price

Have an idea what I should pay for the continentals? Will the wider tires fit on the existing rims? is there an advantage?
Thanks,
Dave

Continentals were a bit noisy at high speeds for me. If you plan on upgrading to bigger rims in the future just get a cheap set of 15's or used. But if you plan on keeping your 15's go with the Michelins or Khumo's

1993 300CE Sportline
correct rating important

Most brands will feel great unless you buy the wrong rating. Get at least a W rated tire and I know the coupes designate a Z rated tire. Don't get worry that MB requires a high speed rated tire, who drives at 130 mph (probably don't want to know who ) The speed rating can make or break the ride of the car. I just switched out some Continentals that were H rated. They simply did not ride good and they had been installed by the PO and had plenty of good tread left. I moved to a Z rated tire and flipped a coin over Michelin or Pirelli, both great brands. I paid about $525 for Pirelli PZero Nero in 205/55/ZR16 at Discount Tire plus they gave me an additional amount as a trade-in. The car rides better and doesn't pick up the little irratations in the road that made it wander slightly before.
btw, I have a 16 inch rim from an E420, it is 16x7.5, my car has the Sportline option and originally came w/ 7.5 width wheels.
Good luck!

Michelin 205

SOmeone said goto Costco,I agree. Michelin is good but pick the right one. DOnt get that Pilot get the one with MXVH plus energy 205/60/15 H. THat Mechelin Pilots is more sporty but very noisy. I had to return it back to Costco. I paid $400 installed for 4. Dont forget to tell Installer to balance carefully. I have togo back let them redo balancing. Also check your tire pressure I use 29 psi all around. By the way, anyone knows what is the right psi for this car?

This is what my 260E calls for. I'm sure its the same for the 300E and E320 using 15" wheels.
