I was thinking about buying a 90's 300D/E300 diesel for use with SVO or biodiesel. I heard they accelerate a little slow, about 0-60 in 12sec. I was wondering if it was possible to get it into the 8-10sec range. I don't expect a sports car or anything, I am more concerned with fuel economy, handling, and comfort. I just thought 12sec might be trouble in some situations. Having it a bit slow would be good anyway, especially in the snow and ice we get around here.
