I have a few leftover that are useless to me now if anybody wanna buy them, they are a 4" diameter hole saw (hook it up to a drill) and 2 4" wide by 5" inch deep ports made of I believe black ABS plastic.

just in case there is no confusion, I do NOT reccomend just adding ports to an existing sealed box,

you need to build a new enclosure from scratch!

yeah. they're more like vents in the rear deck, not ports. just symantics.

turns out my amp is only giving me 125 wattsX2 rms. my subs can only handle 200 watts rms. the amp isnt really made for subs anyway. i guess for now ill just upgrade the amp should i find a good deal. if i upgrade to a 200 watt rms amp, thats a little under 40% louder. so its something....

I'm afraid that you won't be happy with 200wrms (or 400, I'm not sure if your numbers were for each or both together). You're gonna have to cut if you want bass in this car. it's just the way it goes.

before i make my investment, im goin to try to bridge my rockford 2 channel amp and run my subs in parallel. that gives me 2 ohms and supposedly 250 watts per sub...is it possible to bridge a 2 channel amp? ive seen it done with monos

Have you checked the outputs on your deck? Had a situation when I had my coupe and had poor bass response. I cut a hole in the deck and it was still so so. When I pulled the stuff out to put in my cabrio and fired everything up we found out that the sub output was toast.
Just a thought.

no you can't, but you still can possible have things down to 1 ohm-which I don't recommend. Well like the easy answer is go get bigger amps/sub configuration.

Or I forgot use the first channel setup (1/2) and your amp may act as a 2-channel or mono amp then. thats all I have for you, I have never delt with a 4channel amp and subs.

you can't put a scale on the level of volume based on watts, plus the difference in 125 and 200 watts is really not that great and will not be all that noticable,

before buying new equipment always build a new box or adjust settings

which fuse blew? on the amp or the one close to your battery? if it's the one on the amp then that configuration is obviously not good for your amp.

u think this would give me a little more boom?

http://www.audio-warehouse.com/web/m...00M/detail.asp

just realized, i need 2 channel bridgable into 1 channel and stable at 2 ohms...or a 2 channel that is really powerful and inexpensive

will do, thanks. also, i dont have much experience with acoustics but wouldnt it be best if my amp was close to my tail lights and facing my fuel tank? that way sound can bounce off the tank and into the holes in the deck? like i said, im dont know, im just curious
