Post 18" AMG Wheels....HELP!!!

I have a set of 18" AMG Wheels. They measure 18x8 for the fronts and 18x9 for the back. Will these fit my 88 300e and what do i have to do to fit them? Tire size as well. Thanx

Your going to need to roll your fenders to fit those. AMG also sold/sells? a spacer kit that pushes your fender out a bit.

You need to tell us the offset of the wheels. You want something in the ballpark of 32-35mm. Anything less than that and you're gonna have trouble. It is stamped on the inner side of the wheel i.e., ET32. I have 18x8's on my car. I had to roll my fenders, and I have very minimal (if no) rubbing. But the offset is the most important factor here.

Also you need to let us know if your car is lowered, I'm guessing it isn't. Anyways, I'm running a 17x8 set up with a ET28. Very aggressive. I had to roll the fenders up in front and I still need to add fender spacers to stop the rubbing I have. Just be sure the tire sizes are correct and the offset as well.

Does anyone know the part number or where I can get some of these fender spacers?

Yes I need those spacers to, will it still have a stock/factory look at the seams or not?

dude, you might not need them. you may just need to roll your fenders. So look at your wheels and tell us what the offset is, and then you can think about the spacers.

rolling your fenders isn't hard just time consuming as I did it myself with a steel-like malet, just jack your ride up on one side( I did this with the tires still on.) and consistantly moving side to side smack the lip hard aiming upward back towards you at about a 45-55 degree angle (assuming you are looking down at the fender.) As time consumes your angle will need to slighly decrease. Like I said before this took me a good maybe 1 and a half to 2 hours to do it and your arms do get tired, but don't get sloppy and make sure your hitting the fender lip. A few things to note is that I sat in a chair while doing this and the rear fenders will take longer cause it's a two wall metal surface, and with the front they can be faster but you need to be more cautious cause it has just a one layer metal wall and if you happen to miss the fender lip a dent may appear. However if your not so worried about paint cracking were you can't see anyways you can make the lip almost flush with the fender like I did and it also bangs the fender out a little more, how much more---I don't know.

Before I did this all of my tires were rubbing and I was so worried the fender lips were going to completely rub through my tires, but after doing this not my tires don't rub at all and thats testing it out at high speeds on the freeway, slamming on my brakes, and cutting through corners. I believe my drop is lower than most of them member here and yes I have 18's too. So there you have it. And yes I do need stiffer shocks now.

you said you already have them, right? Give them a try and see what happens. The offsets sound like they might be within the acceptable range. But it's gonna be very close so the only way to be sure is to test it.

You are going to have to roll your fenders no matter what. If those rears don't fit, it's going to be because they are simply too wide. I would be surprised if spacers would do anything other than make them rub worse.

300E
I have AMG 17x8 on my 300E (with 235/45’s) and they really rub the guards. All your wheels will physically fit on your car without touching the suspension because the offset is ok (just). Still I would not recommend those wheel dimensions for a 300E. The front wheels you may almost get away with after bending the metal up on the inside of the wheel arc and putting on some 215/40 tyres. However the rear wheels are too wide no matter what tyre size you use. My wheels and tyres just fit under the guards, however your 9inch wheels would stick out an extra 6mm and because their 18’s the tyres will be more rectangular than oval (like the stock tyres) and this brings them closer to the guards again! I can’t see those wheels fitting under the car without the guards being rolled out, which is a hard job because the passenger doors sit right above. You’ll probably end up paying more for the body work than you paid for the wheels in the first place! Those spacer kits aren’t going to help either as AMG never used wheels bigger than 17x8 on the 300E even on the almighty Hammer. If it were me I’d take them back.

Very Slow Mercedes
have 18x9.5 AMG rear with 265/35/18 et39 and they rubbed badly,I rolled fenders and all is well, but I also had **** poor Eibach springs that sagged the rear, yesterday I installed factory rear springs with 18mm springs pad and even with 4 people no rubbing.
I also have 03 SL 500 Launch wheels 18x9.5 et40 with 255/35/18 with the sagging rear those did not rub.
i tried 19x9.5 with 265/30/19 et46 AMG wheels and those don't rub.and fit under the car with zero interference...none of these stick past the fenders

I must point out though that these wheels are way overkill on a w124 but I need as much rubber in the rear as possible...

Not sure on the 9" but i run 18x8.5" front and back on my car with no rubbing cept on large dips/speed bumps and my car is lowered 1.5 inches and i did not have my fenders rolled so depending on your offset the X8" should fit fine

I have the exact same wheels as you.....offset and width. The real problem is the fronts. The offset is too low for our cars and the wheels stick out too much. You will definately need to roll your fenders and you will still rub on major bumps and with passangers. Before I rolled the fenders my passanger fender took a huge chunk out of my tires. I am running 225 on them but I'm thinking that 215 will solve the rubbing.

Running 225's on the rear and don't have rubbing issues at all. That said 225 on a x9 wheel give that streatched look. But I haven't rolled the rears yet and don't plan to untill I find a way to lower the rear some more.

I am running vogtland springs all around with no spring pads. However, my rear is higher then my front and I'm trying to figure out why. The front is tucking rubber and the rear isn't.

Here is a pic. Not the best but you get the idea. I'll try and get some better ones this weekend.
