1994 E320 AMG Coupe
Cruise controll problem

W124 E320 Auto Coupe 1994 91,000 miles

when i got the car the cruise works fine upto about 60mph then the cars judders as if the car is slowing then speeding up then slowing constantly

then at about 100 mph its very bad and at 125 mph it turns its self off and was so bad it was almost dangerous

being a non tech bloke whats wrong and what needs fixing / replacing ?

Very common problem. Make a search and you'll find tons of treads on this subject.
The most likely cause is broked lead soldering inside the cruise control module (located under the dashboard, near the steering column)
The remedy is to patiently go over each and every soldering joint in this box with a soldering iron.
Took me about 4 hours to do the job.
