What does it mean?

Hi On my 1984 2.5d e class an orange light keeps coming on and off. It is on the dash board near oil warning light. It is a circle with dashs round it. I think it is something to do with the brakes but i have checked pads and fluid and all seems ok. Please could someone let me know. Cheers Al

Yeah, you're right with it having something to do with the brakes. It's the brake pad wear indicator. Check your front pads to see if they're worn down. The light is probably going on and off because the sensor is gaining and losing contact with the rotors. If your pads are fine...then maybe your sensors are just bad? I'm not too sure about that one.

You checked the brake pads on both sides?

It's time to replace the brake pads. If not, wait until the light is solid orange to change them. The light is just letting you know whats up and your brakes will be gone soon.
