Going to Germany..what to bring back
Hi all
I have a friend going to Germany in a few weeks to visit family and has offered to bring back any Mercedes parts I might want. I have a 1991 300CE in great shape but hate the stock headlights. Any suggestions for an upgrade? I don't have a thousand bucks to spend on lites so probably going to skip the HID's. Any other option to modernize the look of the car and improve the currently really crappy headlight perfromance?

hey, i have the same car, and the same complaint 
you dont need to get xenons, but if you get the Bosch/Hella european housings they use a different bulb type and have a better reflector so lighting performance will be improved while still using halogen bulbs. You might need to pick up 8wire to 6wire socket converter things to use the new housings, but thats found pretty easily on ebay. Id reccomend a new becker Grand Prix headunit (european models came with older becker grand prix) with bluetooth and mp3/WMA cd playback with input for audio devices and stuff. Its pretty nice If you could, ask your friend how much one would cost? I really need to replace my current grand prix headunit (cd reader slides around on the track) and I want to see if it costs less directly from germany. Would that be okay to ask of you?

Tell him to bring back alot of performance car magazines. They should have some #'s for kits and stuff. Like the ads. You know what i mean. Example: Super Street, Max power, import tuner type mags. But the Germany cars tho.

D&W cataloge. One of the best aftermarket cataloges in Germany. They are a little thin on Benz parts, but general performance and customizations parts are a plenty. The hot models on the first few pages dont hurt either. The cat can be picked up at any rest-stop or gas station with a news stand.
