5sp manual rear-end vibration on shift
Hi all,
I was test-driving a W124 300TD w/ 5-speed manual transmission.
As I'm pushing the clutch pedal down to change gears (from 1st to 2nd), I would feel some vibration in the rear and hear a knocking sound when the current gear disengages.
I experience the same thing while releasing the clutch pedal as the higher gear engages (still 1st to 2nd).
I experience the samething when downshifting. Whenever I push the clutch or release it, I do not jerk it - I release it slowly and smoothly.
I'm thinking flex disc, transmission mounts, and subframe mounts. Any and all suggestions, comments, insights are welcome.
Thanks for reading. I'm hoping someone can help me out.
