My mercs shaking ?

A few days ago i got my exhaust changed.

but

now when ever i start it it shakes and a rattling sound comes from under the car. its especailly when the car iz cold or stationary. but when it becomes hot it doesn't shake as much but i still hear rattling.

could it be the exhaust pipe or its mountings or did the garage do a cheap job .

Check all the places where any pipes or manifolds are attached, there may be some loose bolts. Also check all of the hangers and make sure they're all attached properly.
My money's on the bolts though.

so you mean the bolts may be causing the to rattle and that may be shaking it?

The shaking part probably has something to do with the engine - motor mounts or trans mount maybe. When those wear out they stop separating engine vibration from the chassis, and it feels like shaking, especially at idle. If you have this problem going on AND your exhaust has loose parts, you get a rattle from underneath your car. It could be other things that bolt on - sway bar bushings, heat shields, etc, but since you just had your exhaust done, it's probably that.

the same happened to me

This thing you comment happened to me 10 days ago and its a very simple thing what happens. What happens to you is the new exhaust is hitting at the end with the chasis ( with the plastic part) and it will end melting it so the exhaust and the chasis get together and you wont hear anymore the shaking.
The solution is quite easy, the mechanic should do it for free, just turn a bit the exhaust so it doesnt hit any part. Is so simple.
