Yay!!!
you probably dont recognize my name but i have been making (probably really annoying) posts about my car and not knowing whats wrong with it for about 3 months now and right when im about to sell it i get good news in the form of some money and can afford to get it from the dealership!! was the EHA Valve and Air Pump... $1100.. i get my car this weekend. Maybe some of you will be telling me it was a do it yourself job for about half the price but i just couldnt figure it out. Ive never driven this car before!! im excited.

Ouch!! Air pump? Do you mean the idle control valve? the EHA is pretty cheap from the junk yard and rarely goes bad. You sound like me when i was 17, i had a POS 300e and spent 1700 on the fuel distributor, EHA, ECU, and some other parts that didn't need to be changed! The mechanic didn't know what he was doing and was just putting parts to see if it fixed it!..

yea i figured theres a much cheaper route to go.. but after 3 months of trial and error of DIY with cheap parts and pretty much guessing at the problem.. i really just want to drive the car.. keep in mind ive never drivin it before..

i just got my winter car 300e running aswell, and im so in love with it, after having a 124 in the past i have a huge love for the body style, im gonna make it a amg winter car hehe ull see ill post pics soon, btw what was wrong with ur car? what were the simptoms?

My Father was a Benz man and I finally had an opportunity to get one a few weeks ago. She has some quirks but I am never looking back to any other ride. I have been online looking for parts to add and replace plus looking for manuals because I plan to be as "hands on" with my ride as much as possible. Being a former crew chief on jets and an engineer on the ones I actually worked on I enjoy a fine machined vehicle!
Funny...the guy I bought the car from stated "Once you drive a benz you will want a benz. It always happens and will with you." Well he was right because I paid cash for my ride an never looked back.
There are many sites out there that also have OEM parts that you can order just search and you will find.

It was the EHA valve. The car would turn over really good and sound like its about to start but never would. After many many other ventures, we got around to taking all the lines coming from the fuel distributor off and give it gas.. fuel would come out of some but not all.. the EHA valve is the little electrical piece that makes this work.. it was bad. the air pump was also bad, but im not sure what effect that had on it trying to start. Expensive fix from dealership:: $1100.
