Hello and thanks for the time and any/all suggestions. I just came across a 1993 400e w/120k with minor front end damage. Check out pic: http://watermark1.copart.com/website...7364436_4X.JPG

I'm considering replacing the hood, grille, headlamps with those of the 1994-95 E series. I'm just not completely sure if parts are just a direct bolt on fit. Has anyone made the conversion?? If so, did any particular problems arise when doing the changeover?
I have access to a 94 e320 front end but need to inform myself prior to purchase.

Thanks again.

ps ...here is a list of other options I'm cosidering.......moonroof from a 97 e320, tail lamps from the same 94, and 2dr sport seats (for better comfort.)

Yes it's a direct bolt on. It has been discussed several times on the forums. Use the Search Tool. I doubt the moonroof from a 97 will fit though.

Did you check the vehicle out on site in person yet?! That 'minor' damage seems to include both front fans, and the radiator (and A/C condenser?!) Everything looks to be offset, the metal strips below the headlights seems to have pulled on the fender(s) so there might be more to it than you think. Also the car doesn't seem to run (ofcourse not without any coolant) so it has been towed there by the looks of the opened flap in the bumper. Still I would also go for it! If you succeed in straightening things out with a facelift bonnet and trunk lid you should be looking goooood!

the panels underneath lights need to be changed since they have the holes for the wipers and the euros/94-95 lights don't need them.

Thanks for the info guys. The car is already in my possession and your right, it does need all the following: hood, grille, headlamps/markers, dual aux fan, radiator, condenser, upper and center rad support & lastly fan blade. I thank god that the bumper was unscaved, I don't think I would have touched it if so. It may seem like a lot, but considering what I've read about these cars, I think it's worth it.
What also sold me was the condition of interior and engine bay. This thing is immaculate. High props to the previous owner, they did a hell of a job.
