96 E320 oil leak & Oil cover hard to open.

96 E320 oil leak & Oil cover hard to open.
My 1996 e320 is leaking oil on the left side towards the back.
It seems to be getting worse as I am now adding about a quart a day.
What's really interesting is that the oil cap on the top of the engine is really hard to open since this oil leak has developed. Almost as though the engine has developed tremendous suction on the cap.
I added oil, jacked the car up cleaned the oil that was just about everywhere then started her up and waited for oil to start leaking again and found nothing. I will thorougly clean her again and continue to hunt down the culprit.
I have searched the forum for common leak points on this engine but have found nothing as to the left side near the back. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
