need help - leaky 260E
My '87 260E leaks a good amount of coolant and gets hot frequently. Here's what I've seen:
I smell that maple syrup kind of smell that one associates with coolant dripping in a hot spot.
I can look under the car and see a small puddle of coolant on the bottom of the bay and on the ground but there's no white smoke from engine.
When I refill it with antifreeze or water it does okay but the problem is ongoing and I have to add one of the two every day or so to keep it going without the temperature fluctuating.
-The local mech. said that it needed new hoses and such but I wanted to see what you guys thought.
