Rear pillar cover removing?

Hi everyone,
Today I noticed that the strip that covers the rear pillar on the passengers side has popped out, seems like the rear mounting point split from the cover itself, I was wondering how to get access to remove the cover, actually is the cover of any use (other than cosmetically of course)

This is the cover i'm looking to remove, couldn't find any instruction on removing it on the net

Must have broken the tab due to the heat, it sits in the blazing sun all the time. Hope its repairable.

I usually see rust on many W124 sedans in the cover area, is this a location where the roofs splits from the rear fender, or are they both one peice?

Regards.

If you open the back door you'll see a screw and if you pop the trunk you'll see the other screw, just unscrew them and remove the cover!

The front screw is accessed by opening the rear door, but the rear screw cannot be accessed from the trunk, I think the speaker cover is needed to be removed to reach it. in my case it was broken anyway, so no need to fiddle with that.
