E280 & E320
Hi guys
The deal is this, I have got an E320, and a friend of mine a E280 that he doesnt use much. Recently we have been driving along in his car which has thousands of miles more than mine. Both cars have the M104 engine, with the only difference of cylinder size, power and torque.
Well, I have appreciated a lot of differences between both, first of all his car doesnt have hesitation at idle, and idles perfectly, you dont even notice engine is running, while mine has hesitation at idle all the time.
Second his oil pressure needle, stays at 3 at idle(even with engine hot), while mine is at 2 when idling, in mine you can appreciate hesitations in the rpm and oil pressure needles when engine is at idle, when you touch thrrotle hesitations disappear.
And third and most important, I have noticed that when I rev the 280 it sounds quite good, while in my 320, when you rev it sounds like forced, it seems the engine is going to break and you dont like to rev it up because of the sound above the 4000rpm. I cant understand this difference, I even enjoy more the 280 than my 320, this has made me thinking about if I have something going wrong under the bonnet.
When you rev the 280 you enjoy doing it, while in the 320 you think something is about to brake. Does this difference really exist?¿ or it seems I have got something wrong im my 320? Should I take money and do a full change to important things in the engine? If i did which things are more important? Which things would make my engine sound as it should?
Thanks for yor help

No one can help ?¿
It´s very important for me to obtain any kind of information.
Perhaps, has anybody got the torque-horsepower graphics of a 320?
Thanks

ya know, the oil pressure points to nothing, both are normal, his may have thicker oil. Hesitation will be ANYTHING but most likely fuel related. Do a major tune up and see if that changes anything. Nasty noises with revs=bad, these engines sound nice, get it checked out.

I don't think you realize how incredibly broad your questions are. Honestly no offense intended, but if your questions and your descriptions of your issues are any indication of your mechanical aptitude, maybe you should just take your car to the mechanic... Even if we give you some potential answers, chances are you will have to take it to the mechanic to have it checked out anyway. I mean this in the kindest way possible.
