The car: 1989 260E W124:
I need to replace a noisy belt tensioner shock absorber.
How can I get to the bottom bolt?
What need to be removed.

The manual lists the damper as a retrofit for the m103 engine, so I have included the retrofit instructions and the m104 replacement instructions. I don't know if this will help, but here you go:
