Iced In Missouri

i am in missouri for some time now and am fortunate enough to have my 124 with me. I chose the perfect time - winter ice storm. My 124 is not doing very good at all in the ice/snow. Does anyone have any recommendations for winter-friendly tires? Also, as i was pulling in to park at the post office, i hit some ice and started sliding and my ABS began working. I finally got it parked and upon restarting the car the ABS light was on and stays on. What does this mean?

Thanks very much,

Thomas

I would think that you can put some Bridgestone Blizzaks on your car for not too much money. They seem to have earned a reputation as a good Winter tire that is also not too expensive.
The issue is whether or not you are going to opt for a set of 'Winter' wheels that you leave your Winter tires permanently mounted on....

I don't have a clue as to what is going on with your ABS....

abs

you tripped up the CPU, when you applied the brakes the CPU didn't know which to engage, the traction control or the ABS, so it tryed to engage both, which can be damaging to the drivetrain

I had this happen to my 4E when I turned while stopping and only the back wheels hit the ice.

if the roads are anything anything in Missouri like they are in Arkansas, it only gets worse, and believe it or not but some higher performance rain tires work better than most I have tryed

Get some studded snow tires - if they are legal in that area. Snow tires + metal studs = traction.

You have to have a lot of clearance for insta-chains Those are for semis, and possibly lifted of just high elevated vehicles.
