Smile Is there a Reference Resistor for a 93 400e?

Hello and I came accross this info:

http://www.mercedesshop.com/shopforu...ad.php?t=32224

Has anyone ever removed the resister off their 400e? Better question, does the v8s 124 have these resisters and if so, do you know where the location of it is, maybe even a picture of it?

I've tried to read the info from the link, but I couldn't find and info on the V8s 124 models. Most of the info pertaining to the 124 is for the 6cyl models.

I don't mind trying it for some improvment. BTW, I do use Cheveron 91 Octane and/or any premium available. And by removing this resister will retard the ignition timing to 0 degrees which will increase performance and fuel economy, at least according to the tread (link above).

I am looking for any slight umph in improving the performance of this 400e (127k) without any major mods.

Thanks
